FFPE Tissue Blocks
Central BioHub GmbH
Central BioHub’s inventory includes 400+ FFPE tissue blocks for many different cancer types. This contains kidney, liver, breast, stomach, colon, uterine, lung, thyroid and many more. In addition to FFPE samples from carcinogenic tissue Central BioHub offers matching samples from normal adjacent tissue (NAT). Each tumour is classified by the TNM staging system and measured in detail. Data on other factors such as sex, age, ethnic group, weight and height are also available. Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) tissue is primarily used for histological examination of biological tissues by microscopy. For this purpose, the corresponding tissue is first fixed with formalin and then embedded in paraffin. This process creates permanently preserved tissue blocks that can be cut into thin specimens and stained by several methods.
